Design
“Design is a discipline of study and practice focused on the interaction between a person — a ‘user’— and the man-made environment, taking into account aesthetic, functional, contextual, cultural and societal considerations.” International Council of Design

research, design, test, learn, repeat (x)
trust within the team
strong leaders with vision
Great design is delightful, useful and memorable.
A well designed product can solve immediate pain points and provide users with opportunities to use it in new and innovative ways.

Lego Blocks - Invented 1932 by Ole Kirk Christiansen
Lego has been a part of our modern world since the turn of the century. It provides children and adults with a set of building blocks to enhance creativity, motor and spatial skills, problem solving and collaboration. The fundamental design is the same today as the original set of blocks, with new technology adding to the set of capabilities to enhance the experience of the users. This design has withstood the test of time and has become part of a world wide culture.
Innovation in Design
Innovation is where business, technology and human values meet.
I have found through experience, that when the UX, business and technology teams work together towards a shared vision, innovative solutions can be designed.
Design is the heart where innovation can be found.
New technology without a purpose and without solving a need, is not innovation.
A new product that uses outdated, common and expensive technology, is not innovation.
A product with new technology and a huge market, but difficult to use UX, is not innovation.
Innovation is when all stakeholders from technology, business and design work together to find the unmet needs of the customer.
